Apart from the caves noted on NR34SW 5 and NR34SW 6 there are about another 6 on or about 25ft OD on the coast between NR 344 450 and NR 345 440.

Five caves were noted in the area of the map references given above, and these are published on the OS 6" maps. They are mainly narrow with small entrances although one, that at NR 3440 4390 is 15m deep and has an average width of 4m.

One cave has some ruined drystone walling at its entrance and most have an amount of black soil with nettles just outside. As well as these caves there are a number of rock shelters, many fronted by dry stone walling. Although these caves may have been occupied, or at least used as temporary shelters, the period and extent of their use is uncertain. There are many other similar caves around the rocky coast of The Oa peninsula.
