Cairn [NAT] (at NJ 2808 1919)

Cairn [NAT] (at NJ 2813 1925)

OS 1:10,000 map, 1971.

Several marker cairns have been constructed in the saddle traversed by The Ladder Road between Dun Muir to the SW and Meikle Geal Charn to the NE. Two of the cairns lie on what is presumably frost-shattered bedrock, forming a low mound immediately to the E of the road, and another lies about 95m to the NNE. The latter forms an irregularly shaped mound about 8m in diameter and 0.4m in height. This earlier cairn may represent nothing more than the collapse of successive marker cairns at this point on the boundary.

Visited by RCAHMS (SPH), 10 June 1997.
