Mr John Forsyth, Twiglees, Eskdalemuir, located several hut-circles and two cairns and plotted these on the 6" Ordnance map sheets. (Twiglees: NY 2246 9403).

According to Mr Truckell these hut circles were situated in two groups just below the summit of Sow Rig to the north of the Boreland-Eskdalemuir road and were visible from the roadside. They were discovered during draining operations prior to afforestation and are now covered by fir plantation. The exact position of Sow Rig is not known.
