A collared cinerary urn, found on Orchard farm (NY48SW 35), and presented to Langholm Museum last century by Dr Carlyle, is now held in Dumfries Museum under accession no. 1963/22. (Orchard farm: NY 405 800).

Langholm Museum is now defunct and the contents transferred to Dumfries. No further information.

This Collared Urn is of the secondary series, North Western style, and form V. It measures 12" (30.5cm) in diameter at the mouth and is decorated (on the collar) with twisted-cord filled triangles enclosed above and below by single twisted-cord lines, (on the neck) with roughly-executed twisted-cord lozenge/zigzag design, and (on the internal rim bevel) with twisted-cord zigzag.
