NT27NE 850 2643 7533 to c. 2626 7521

See also NT27NE 247 (Dryden Street, general view).

For associated Shrubhill Tram Depot and Tramway Workshops, see NT27NE 849.

Tramway power standards on both sides of Dryden Street supplied a feeder route, leading from the rear entrance of Shrubhill Tram Depot and Tramway Workshops, NT27NE 849, to the junction of Pilrig Street.

Photography, by RCAHMS, on 30 August 1999, recorded three of these standards then surviving, all had been converted for re-use as lamp standards by this time. The lamp standards appear to have been constructed from cast iron, with ornamental ironwork at the top.

A further visit to Dryden Street was made by RCAHMS (RJCM) during December 2000. It was found that the tramway power standard recorded on frame D58345, can no longer be identified, and has presumably been demolished as part of a redevelopment. It was apparently located at NTc. 2323 7522. The two that are recorded in frame D58346 survive (at NT 2635 7529 and NT 2640 7530, respectively), although the former (and nearer the camera) no longer retains all its decorative ironwork.

Visited by RCAHMS (RJCM), 27 December 2000.
