NT53SE 59 554 305.

There were several peels or square towers in the village of Bowden (centred NT 554 305) within the last twenty years; the remains of one or two of them are still to be seen. Their lower part contained an apartment for cattle, and in the upper part, one or two small apartments for the family, to which they obtained access by an outer stone stair.
