NT37SW 53 3458 7277.

There is a small, much dilapidated dovecot, measuring 12' x 7'7", behind Musselburgh Tolbooth, off Kerr's Wynd (NT 346 727). It contains no nest holes; the roof is partly pantiled and part slate. Four entrance holes for pigeons remain in a board two-thirds down the roof. It had crowsteps at one time, but only two bottom ones remain in the N gable, and the back wall above the gable has been repaired with bricks. It has been used for other purposes, a window being let into the N wall and an old flue pipe remains at one angle, but it appears to have been in use as a dovecot up to 1906 at least.

A N Robertson 1945

NT 3458 7277. The remains of this dovecot stand to a height of 3.0m. It has been re-roofed and is now in use as a store. It measures 3.8m square.
