(NT 0891 8723) Site of the King's Barns and Stables (NR)

OS 6" map, Fifeshire, 1st ed., (1854)

Outside the walls (of Dunfermline Abbey - NT08NE 1) were the stables and other offices.

There is no trace of these building at the OS siting, which is an unlikely situation. Centred at NT 0895 8721 (P Chalmers 1859) are "old barns and thrash mill, now removed". Nothing remains on the ground.
