A former Caledonian Railway Company railway station which is visible on vertical air photographs, (OS 75/135/283-4, flown 1975).

This intermediate station on the Glasgow-Shotts-Edinburgh (Princes Street) secondary route of the former Caledonian Rly was opened on 9 July 1869 by the Cleland and Midcalder Rly. It remains in regular use by passenger traffic.
