This grass-grown cairn, which is situated on a low rise in pasture 300m SW of North Kirktonmoor farmsteading, measures 13.8m in diameter and up to 1.5m in height. The foot of the cairn has been trimmed by the plough on the N, W and S sides and the centre has been dug into, with the spoil thrown immediately to the SE. A heap of field-cleared stones overlies the SW to W side of the mound, but no evidence of the kiln noted by Welsh (1973) was found on the date of visit.

Visited by RCAHMS (GB, AGCH) 17 July 2007.
