This rocking stone is a large erractic boulder of basaltic greenstone lying on porphyrite. Its parent bed is at barcraigs about a mile away. The boulder is 4ft 4ins high and has a circumference of about 19ft 7ins. R Love 1876

The 'Rocking Stone' is an irregularly - shaped boulder, 5.8m in circumference and 1.2m high. It is a natural feature.
