(NR 3650 9472) Dun Meadhonach (NR)

OS 6" map (1900)

A small dun which shows signs of having been occupied in comparatively recent times. Slight excavation in its kitchen-midden revealed a quantity of bones of domestic animals.

S Grieve 1923

Not located.

S Piggott and C M Piggott 1948

An oval dun, measuring internally 21.0m E-W by 13.0m, occupies the top of a rocky knoll. The wall is best preserved in the W where it is up to 2.8m wide and three courses high. Elsewhere, only a scattering of stones survives. The entrance is not apparant, but was probably in the E. The interior is flat and featureless. Below the dun, to the SE, are two small plots, defined by the slight remains of a field dyke.

Surveyed at 1:2500.
