NO45SE 29 4618 5018 and 4617 5017

(A: NO 4618 5018; B: NO 4617 5017) Two short cists found on 19th October 1961, during extension to Newmonthill Cemetery, and excavated by a team from Dundee Museum under J D Boyd.

Cist 'A' measured 3' x 2' x 1'3" deep with a lid 4 1/2' long and contained a female skeleton, aged about 30, height 5'1", with a food vessel which is now in Dundee Museum.

Cist 'B' measured 2 1/2' x 1 1/2' x 1 1/2' and contained cremated bone fragments.
