NN90SE 3 9696 0182.

NN 9697 0183 Situated on a S-facing hillside is a circular platform, revetted front and back and levelled into the slope.

It measures 10.0m in diameter and the lower revetment wall remains up to 1.2m high. The walling continues onto the change of slopes, as a rickle of stones, and a break in this on the E probably represents an entrance. A short distance to the S and E several natural terraces containing a high stone content possibly represent sites of other platforms.

The characteristics of this site are typical of the timber house platforms in the Borders. No evidence of field clearance was noted in the area.

Surveyed at 1/10 560.

Visited by OS (D W R) 20 May 1974.
