NN74NW 15 733 467.

(Area NN 732 465) Several other mounds of the same class (as NN74NW 8) were found in the same field. One had stones 6" - 12" high marking the outer circumference; other small mounds had no ditch. About 20 were centred near the ditch of the "Roman Camp" (NN74NW 1).

C Stewart 1884

There are no burial cairns or barrows (other than NN74NW 5 and NN74NW 8 ) in the area indicated. The only mounds are about six clearance heaps of which some are undoubtedly modern. At the end of the 19th century, the field was utilised as a golf course, and if cairns ever existed here, they must have been destroyed.

Visited by OS (NKB) 6 October 1975.
