This disused limestone quarry is situated immediately W of the A99(T) public road, and the remains of a broch (ND34SW 9) stand on its W lip. The quarry measures 55m from N to S by 6m transversely and it has been dug into the E-facing slope to a depth of up to 3m. The interior contains a small amount of loose stone at the foot of its W face. The quarry is first depicted on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1907, sheet xxix).
