A farmstead, comprising one roofed building and one large enclosure is depicted on the 1st edition OS map of 1872, but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map. No evidence of the site now exists in the area that is now a forestry car park. The site was investigated during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest.
