Historic Scotland Archive Project (FO) 1997

(Classified as Flints; Flint Arrowhead: Barbed-And-Tanged; Pottery; Urban Excavation). In 1977 about 40 pieces of flint were recovered by excavation of 67-71 Green. Most of them are probably of Mesolithic date, including a core, a notched flake flakes and waste material. In addition, however, there is a barbed-and-tanged arrowhead of yellow-brown flint with curved edges and asymmetrical barbs; it measures 19mm in length by 15mm in breadth across the barbs and 3mm in thickness. The finds from the excavation are now in Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museum.

Information from RCAHMS (JRS), 28 May 1997.
