NJ72SE 49 c. 781 205.

A flint-knapping factory using Buchan flint, possibly of Mesolithic date, has been found at the Bass of Inverurie (NJ72SE 13), according to Simpson, but he also dates flint implements frequently found here to the Neolithic or even Bronze Age periods.

W D Simpson 1943.

The present whereabouts of these flints are not known. They are not in Marischal Museum, Aberdeen (information via email, 29 August 2003, from Neil Curtis, Senior Curator, Marischal Museum), and they have not been identified in the collection of Inverurie Museum.

Information from RCAHMS (JRS), 1 September 2003.
