'There is no written account of this castle. The foundation was taken up by the present farmer and his description of its size and shape, and also from tradition, it is concluded to have been an old Peel Tower.'

Name Book 1866.

The farmer confirmed that he believed this to be the site of the castle. He maintains that the spot shows up as a parched area during a dry summer.
