(NJ 09676030) Kilbuiack Castle (NR) (Site of).

This castle was supposed to have been built in the reign of James the Second and was inhabited by a branch of the Dunbar family. It was totally demolished in the early part of the 19th century, the stones and slates being used in the building and roofing of the present farm-steading.

Name Book 1870

The house of Killbuyack, of old possessed by the Dunbars, is bounded by a burn on the west.

No trace of this castle remains. The site lies in a disused garden at the rear of some cottages.
