About half a mile S of Achnaclyth are two hut circles, some 80ft apart. One measures 21 by 25ft internally and has an entrance in the E, while the other is too much worn away for detailed description.

RCAHMS 1911, visited 1910.

Centred ND 0984 3300. Two hut circles, as described by the RCAHMS.

Visited by OS (WDJ), 29 June 1960.

(A: ND 0984 3302; B: ND 0984 3298) Hut Circles (NR)

OS 6" map, (1962).

On a gentle NE-facing slope are the two turf-covered hut circles (A and B). The N hut (A) is 6.5m in diameter within a wall spread to 2.0m and surviving to 0.4m in height. The simple entrance is in the E. 'B' measures 8.5m in internal diameter; its wall is reduced to a height of 0.4m and is spread to 2.0m. It has been destroyed in the E, where the entrance must have been. Against the outside of the wall in the NE is an annexe or compartment, 4.0 by 2.5m, within a turf-covered wall

spread to 1.5m. There is no apparent access to it directly from the hut circle, but presumably they are contemporary. There is no trace of cultivation associated with the hut circles.

Revised at 1:10,000.

Visited by OS (NKB), 12 August 1982.
