At NC 9785 6467 on the summit of Torran Dubh, a rocky rise in a field, is a stony mound 10.5m NW-SE by 9.0m transversely by 1.1m high. The SW and NE sectors have been partially quarried and in the latter living rock is visible; in the SSW on the line of the periphery is an earthfast slab 0.6m long by 0.5m high by 0.4m thick. There is a general turf cover but a content of small to medium rounded and angular stone is evident. This is possibly a cairn, particularly as the earthfast slab noted looks like a kerb stone. However, the living rock in the NE appears to intrude into the body of the mound, and field clearance cannot be ruled out.
