NC83SE 4 8686 3099.

(NC 8686 3099) Cairn (NR).

OS 6" map, (1964)

A round cairn of bare stones measuring 15m by 14m by 1.3m high. It has an excavation hollow in the centre, but there are indications of neither cist nor chamber.

Visited by OS (EGC) 23 May 1961.

RCAHMS 1911, visited 1909.

The cairn is generally as described. In the south half displacement of some of the rubble infill suggests subsidence. Also there is, tenuously, a projecting mound or bank from the NW side that may be a short horn.

Visited by OS (J M) 25 January 1977.

Scheduled with NC83SE 1 and NC83SE 3 as 'four prehistoric burial cairns on the SW flank of Creag nan Caorach.

Information from Historic Scotland, scheduling document dated 10 December 2001.
