A perforated stone, measuring 2 3/4ins by 1 7/8ins by 7/8ins, and a flat oval pendant of stone with a picked perforation countersunk from both sides, near one end, measuring 5 7/8ins by 3 3/8ins by 7/8ins, from Baliasta (name: HP 605 095) are in the Royal Museum of Scotland (RMS, formerly the National Museum of Antiquties of Scotland [NMAS]) (Accession no: BG 309 and BG 323 respectively). The latter is said to have been hung on the foreheads of cattle to keep them from bolting. The signs of wear at the perforation seem to bear out this attribution.
