Montrose, 25th Jan. The SOUTH ESK, Reid, from Gothenburg to this port, with battens, got on the rocks in the Ness [Scurdie Ness] yesterday, and it is feared will break up next tide, as it is blowing hard from the N.E., with a heavy sea: cargo and materials being landed at low water, and expected to be all saved.

Montrose, 30th Jan. The SOUTH ESK, Reid, of and for this port from Gothenburg, which got on the rocks in the Ness [Scurdie Ness] 24th Jan., has become a total wreck: her materials have been sold, and the cargo saved, but very much damaged.
