Visual inspection of the site: photographs: measured.

This is not shown on any maps. It is situaed at the edge of one of the tracks that led to the Leacnasgeir on the other side of which is a quite steep field showing signs of rig and furrow cultivation. Nearby (NM9765/5652) is a small quarry. The kiln is stone lined and part of the top stony wall can be seen at the front of the kiln. The lip is oriented to the south. It is filled with debris and no airvent is visible. It is situated a mere 75 metres from another corn drying kiln. Why there should be two so close together is a mystery. Perhaps one did not function properly.
