As part of a long-term project to confirm the record of archaeological sites on Mingulay, Pabbay and Berneray, the National Trust for Scotland, with support from the RCAHMS, undertook a mapping survey on Berneray in May 2010. This reviewed the results of the Sheffield University survey led by Pat Foster in 1992, and recorded a number of new monuments.

615320	RECORDING	FIELD VISIT	A scatter of stones about 3m in diameter on the summit of The Aird is probably the remains of a modern marker cairn. To the S and SE (at NL 57038 80125 and NL 57048 80126) there are two prominent boulders, which appear to be entirely natural, and there are more boulders scattered across the flat hilltop to the SE. About 10m to the S of the boulders a rough line of large stones, representing either the remains of a bank or a line of field clearance, runs E-W for 10m. Finally, there are extensive traces of lazy bed cultivation across the flat hilltop around these features. [...]	5 May 2010
615328	RECORDING	FIELD VISIT	An arc of large stones up to 0.4m high, and measuring about 4m across the chord from WNW to ESE, may be the remains of a peat stand, though there is no trace of a S side to the feature. The tussocky grassland around it has traces of lazy bed cultivation. [...]	6 May 2010
615372	RECORDING	FIELD VISIT	This grass-grown stony mound, situated on a low rise at the edge of cultivated ground at the foot of Mullach Rumich, measures about 5m in diameter and 0.6m in height. Although it bears a superficial resemblance to a burial cairn, it appears to be no more than a pile of field-cleared stones on top of an outcrop. [...]	5 May 2010
