Probable broch in Dunrossness, originally a large grass-covered mound with traces of masonry [2], in which about 40 ft. of broken wall, 5.5 ft. high and with the usual batter, was found in 1956; the estimated diameter is 60 ft. and outworks are apparent under turf on the south side [3].
