Camphill House, 799 Pollokshaws Road, 1806, style of David Hamilton

Classical country house, rectangular plan with hipped slate roof, two storeys above basement. Continuous cornice, giant panelled corner pilasters. Painted polished ashlar, sash windows with slender astragals. Ionic central porch on north front leads to plaster-vaulted central hall, with oval staircase off. Converted to Museum of Costume, 1895, then to flats, 1994.
