Sundial, c.1717, cubical, with three cherubs' heads on top, said to have been erected in memory of the two elder sons of Bailie Gordon who were murdered in 1717 by their tutor, Robert Irvine, for having related 'some liberties they saw him take with their mother's maid'. Irvine's wrath was wreaked in public, he was apprehended by an angry crowd and hanged two days later.
