Three low cairns lie in the vicinity of The Ladder Road, a path which runs between Dun Muir and Meikle Geal Charn. Two of the cairns lie on a area of exposed bedrock immediately to the east of the path, while the third lies 95m to the north-north-east. These cairns were probably constructed to mark the county boundary between Aberdeenshire and Banffshire.
