HU 46501 41459 A phased programme of walkover survey, instrument survey, trial trenching and excavation was undertaken, January – November 2014, in advance of a proposed development. The site is located on Staney Hill, in the vicinity of Clickhimin Broch. A total of 20 sites were

located and these included several prehistoric houses and cairns, structures of medieval/post-medieval date and wartime remains. A representative sample of these features was trial trenched to confirm their identification and more extensive excavation was conducted on key sites.
