This extensive group of drystone enclosures extends 140m along a narrow storm beach lying between the rocky sea-shore to the north and Outra Loch to the S, and spreads into the open ground NE of the loch. All of the enclosures are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 25-inch map, as is a single unroofed hut at ND 38520 83841. There is evidence for alteration and rebuilding to some of the enclosures, and features such as creeps suggest they were used for the management of sheep. The adjacent loch has been dammed on the S and W, and there is a drain to the north between two of the enclosures.
