Scope and Content Titled: 'Courtyard of the Palace of Linlighgow' Notes: 'Queen Mary was born here Decr. 7th 1542. In one of the vaults James lll found shelter when in danger of assassination. By a clever stratagem this castle was rescued out of the hands of the English by Robert Bruce, men being concealed in a cart of hay.
