Scope and Content St Stephen's Works, No 112 St Stephen Street, Edinburgh This shows the east side of the building from the north-east, looking along the lane providing access to a loading bay. As can be seen the street frontage is clad in sandstone, to match other buildings in the street, but the sides and rear are built of red brick. In 1971 the building was a depot for Goodyear tyres. The building extended for a considerable distance behind this frontage. Waddies had by 1971 moved to larger premises in Slateford Road. This building was converted into flats in the 1980s. In 1937 this works was occupied by Waddie & Co Ltd, manufacturers, stationers, printers, bookbinders, lithographers and specialists in die embossing, one of many firms in Edinburgh at that time engaged in various branches of the printing trades.
