Scope and Content Watch tower at Moss Side, Perth and Kinross This Roman watch tower is at Moss Side. When the site was first reported, part of an inner rampart was still visible, but ploughing and cultivation over the years have remove all traces of the tower at ground level. This is an aerial view of the site showing the outer ditch of the watch tower as a dark, circular cropmark. The wooden tower stood inside this ditch, and the location of the four corner posts can also be seen. The site was excavated around the start of the 20th century by Christison. The four post-holes which held the wooden tower's corner posts were located. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
