Scope and Content View of Loggia, Glasgow School of Art, No 167 Renfrew Street, Glasgow The corridor on the top floor of the Glasgow School of Art is marked, rather grandly, on the original plans of the building as the 'Loggia'. This photograph, taken in 1910 by the photographer, Harry Bedford Lemere, shows a printing press against the wall. This second-floor room, with its heavy brick arches, seems more like a cellar than a passageway on the top of the building. The three bay windows are equipped with folding tables where students still come to relax, or to draw the city's rooftops. Leading east from the loggia is a glazed passageway which, although labelled 'Pavilion' on the original plans, has been known by generations of students as the 'Hen Run' as it leads to a large studio which was once used as the embroidery room.
