Scope and Content The Glenlivet Distillery, Minmore, Banffshire (Moray council area) This distillery was originally built in 1858 by G and JG Smith to replace their earlier distilleries at Drummin and Delnabo. After a series of changes in ownership it was acquired in 1977 by Seagram of Canada. This view shows the interior of one of the maturing warehouses. This is the upper floor of a two-storey warehouse, with limited headroom, so that the casks are stowed only two high, rather than the usual three. The Glenlivet was in the late 19th century one of the largest Highland Malt whisky distilleries, and its product was a component of Andrew Usher's pioneering blended whisky known as 'Old Vatted Glenlivet'.
