Scope and Content Torwood Foundry, Larbert, Stirlingshire Central Scotland was the capital of Scotland's light ironfounding industry, and Larbert was the home of several ironfounding firms. Jones and Campbell were one of the largest. This view shows the main street frontage of the foundry, with the offices on the right. The main moulding shops were to the rear. The purpose of the low single-storey buildings is not known, but they may have been pattern shops. The Joneses of this company were also timber merchants, and boatbuilders in Buckie, a most unusual business grouping. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
