Scope and Content Old station building, Larbert, Stirlingshire This building was the original Larbert Station building, opened by the Scottish Central Railway, and more or less to one of their two standard patterns, on a T-plan, with crow-stepped gables as a badge of 'Scottishness'. This view shows the building from the south west, with the railway to the right. The building has been extended to the north at some time. The render to the masonry is also a modification, and the building was probably built of sandstone ashlar. Other buildings of similar design survive at Dunblane (much extended), Greenloaning and Forteviot. Another, at Auchterarder, was demolished in the 1980s. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
