Scope and Content Benvie Mill, Angus This is a water-powered corn mill on a rectangular plan with an internal waterwheel, rebuilt in 1865. The kiln has a revolving ventilator. The miller's house forms an L with the mill, but is detached from it. This view shows the mill from the south, with the kiln in the centre and the miller's house on the right. Note the swivelling ventilator, which is of a type characteristic of Banffshire. The character of the mill suggests that the rebuild was not total. This mill was in usable condition in the 1970s. Its present condition is not known to the writer of this caption. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
