Scope and Content Aberfeldy Mill, Perthshire This is a water-powered corn mill, probably built by the Breadalbane Estate, and extended and altered, probably in the mid 20th century. It was driven by an overshot waterwheel about 0.9 by 6.1m, but was not using grindstones by 1976. This view shows the building from the south west. The main milling range is on the right, with the wheel at the rear. The kiln is probably in its original position, but has been heightened, and fitted with a larger ventilator. This mill was still in use in 1976 producing animal feeding-stuffs, in the ownership of McKerchar and McNaughton, a subsidiary of BOCM. It has since been reconverted to stone grinding and opened to visitors. The building was been converted into a bookshop (The Watermill Bookshop) in 2005 and also serves as an art gallery with a cafe.
