Scope and Content Dalmally Station, Argyll This station was opened in 1880 by the Callander and Oban Railway. It is a two-platform through station, with a passing loop. The main building is on the Glasgow-bound platform. This view shows the building on the Glasgow-bound platform, which incorporated an agent's house as well as waiting rooms, booking office and lavatories. Note the level crossing at the platform end, which was used by passengers and porters. There was no footbridge at this station, hence the level crossing. The station became unmanned in the late 1970s, and is now decaying. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
