Scope and Content Outer upright and stiffening beam joints of flanking trestles of Aultnaslanach Railway Viaduct, Inverness-shire Aultnaslanach Railway Viaduct carries the Aviemore to Inverness railway line which was opened by the Highland Railway Company in 1897. It is the only surviving wooden main-line railway viaduct in Scotland. The four outer trestles are different from the two central trestles because they have iron tie-rods connected by tie-rod plates to where the stiffening-beams meet the uprights.
