Scope and Content View of Nos 92-4 Academy Street, Inverness Nos 92-4 Academy Street are a pair of early 19th-century houses, each being two-storeyed with three bays. Dormer windows light the upper rooms. The walls are of rough-coursed stonework which has been harled on the façade only. This shows the pair of houses with their roughly textured harling and small garden-areas behind low walls. The central doorways feature pilasters, and the windows have stone margins. The slated roof rests on a stone cornice, and has dormer windows. These house would once have been home to wealthy Victorian families and their servants. The domestic staff would have had rooms in the attic, away from the grand family rooms below. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
