Description New Lanark View from New Lanark Road, from E

Date 1/1976

Collection Papers of Professor John R Hume, economic and industrial historian, Glasgow, Scotland

Catalogue Number SC 458860

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content Wee Row, New Lanark, Lanarkshire Wee Row is a block of four tenements on the west side of Rosedale Street, on the same line as Double Row, and very similar in design. It has three storeys and a basement. This view shows the row from the south east, with the gable of Mantilla Row on the right, before restoration. The design of this block is similar to that of housing in Inveraray, and ultimately to that of barrack blocks at Fort George. Wee Row was converted into a Youth Hostel in the early 1990s, and has proved very popular. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
