Scope and Content Reinforced-concrete footbridge, Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow This is a reinforced-concrete bridge, designed by WT Docherty of Ronald Walker & Co. It has a gently-curving deck, and pierced spandrels. This view shows the graceful appearance of this bridge, emphasised by the way in which the deck is brought to a narrow exposed face, with light steel railings. The design of this bridge was influenced by earlier 20th century Continental models, including in particular the work of Robert Maillart. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
