Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content Mineral water works, Dumfries, Dumfriesshire This is an unusually elaborate mineral water works, owned in 1974 by the Workington Brewery Co Ltd, and probably built for them. Mineral waters at that time were mostly flavoured carbonated beverages, like lemonade. This view shows the street frontage, with red sandstone dressings of the local stone contrasting with the white rendered body of the building, which was probably built of brick. The building is no longer a mineral water works. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
