Scope and Content Corn mill, Old Bridge of Urr, Kirkcudbrightshire This is an unusual complex, with an L-plan corn mill sharing a high-breast waterwheel, 1.11 by 4.88m, with a rectangular sawmill. On the other side of the access road are the kiln and granary, and a three-bay cart-shed and stores. This view shows the cart-shed and stores on the left, with the kiln and granary beyond, and the mill proper behind a tree to the right. The sharing of a waterwheel is uncommon, and rare in south-west Scotland, as is the separation of kiln from milling equipment. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
